The Grants Officer is a vital behind-the-scenes role that helps the City of Perth Band access external funding to sustain and grow our programs, events, and equipment. Working closely with the Executive Committee, the Grants Officer researches opportunities and crafts compelling applications that open doors for the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from government arts agencies, foundations, trusts, and corporate giving programs
- Prepare and submit funding applications on behalf of the organisation, in line with the band's strategic priorities
- Manage grant acquittals and reporting obligations for successful applications
- Liaise with the Executive Committee to understand project funding needs and priorities
- Maintain a forward-looking calendar of upcoming grant rounds and deadlines
- Track the status of submitted applications and communicate outcomes to the committee
- Build and maintain positive relationships with funding bodies
What we're looking for
- Strong written communication skills — the ability to write clearly and persuasively
- Research skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with grant funding in the arts, community, or not-for-profit sectors (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to manage multiple applications and deadlines simultaneously
- A genuine interest in supporting community music and the performing arts
